Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Oct. 28 that his company is rebranding itself as Meta in an effort to encompass its virtual-reality vision for the future, what Zuckerberg calls the “metaverse.”

脸书公司（Facebook）首席执行官马克·扎克伯格表示，Facebook将更名为Meta，以包罗其称之为“元宇宙”（“metaverse”）的未来虚拟现实愿景。

Zuckerberg said the metaverse will be the successor to the internet and the next version of the internet will be built around people. 

扎克伯格表示，元宇宙将成为互联网的“继任者”，而未来版本的互联网将围绕着人而构建。

Users will be able to ‘teleport’ to all kinds of new spaces , where they can feel present, in ‘joyful and immersive’ ways. Instead of looking at a screen, users will be in the experience, Zuckerberg says. He predicts in the next 5-10 years the metaverse will be just as real and convincing as the actual world.

用户将能够“瞬移”到各种各样的新空间，在那里他们可以以“快乐和沉浸”的方式感受当下。扎克伯格表示，用户将不再盯着屏幕，而是身临其境。他预测，在未来5~10年内，元宇宙将和现实世界一样真实可信。
