Plum flower forest, Luogang Xiangxue Park

Guangzhou is blessed to have flowers all year around, and it is now the season for plum blossoms. Viewed from afar, the blooming plum trees look as if they are covered with snow. Luogang Xiangxue Park in Huangpu district, dotted with over 4,000 plum trees, is offering visitors picturesque scenery with snow-white plum flowers.

With bees and butterflies flying around and wind spreading the fragrance of flowers, plum blossoms will flaunt their best winter appearance through January 5, 2021, allowing tourists to stroll amid a forest of flowers.

Transportation:

1. Huangpu Tram Line 2, Huangpu Library — Xiangxue Park stations: the new tram line is currently under trial run, offering FREE ride to visitors through January 3, 2021, between 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m..

Dawn redwoods, Dafu Mountain Forest Park

Dawn redwood tree, also known as metasequoia, is native to China and widely regarded as a living fossil since its existence can date back to the Cretaceous period. Trees that turned bright red and orange decorate the Dafu Mountain Forest Park in Panyu district, displaying distinctive scenery with trees growing in water, birds nestling on trees and fish swimming in lakes.

Dinosaur show at Sunflower Garden

The Sunflower Garden, a 4A-level attraction in Nansha district, is marked by an ocean of different kinds of flowers and dozens of amusement facilities. Hailed as the largest sunflower garden in China, the scenic spot is home to 18 sunflower species from foreign countries and regions, embracing visitors with over 200,000 sunflower blossoms in golden, red and purple.

Another lure of the trip will be a newly-opened dinosaur-themed exhibition at the park, which will allow audience to take a close look at the lives of the mysterious and ancient species via giant, lifelike dinosaur models.

Transportation: Metro Line 4, Jiaomen station; then take bus No. 2 to Xinken Staion (新垦站) or Baiwankuiyuan Station (百万葵园站)

People who are loath to venture outside can also have fun with an influx of indoor exhibitions in full swing in the city.

Pearl Droppings (《留下我的珍珠泪》) features illustrations that use exaggerated, showy colors and ironic forms of expression to capture special moments of life and reflect the indifference of people in the modern society.

Cesar Piette's Garden (《凯撒·帕特的花园奇遇》) presents a special "garden" of giant sculpture as well as installations of figures and plants from French artist Cesar Piette's paintings. This is an important part of the undergoing France-themed cultural festival at the K11 Art Mall.

The shopping mall will also welcome visitors with an All White Party, which requires all attendees to dress in white, along with jazz shows and dance performances.
