Peruvian Edwin Trejo has worked at an AI company in Guangzhou for five years. His work in intelligent transportation has shown him how AI can truly be put into practice. "Using real-time traffic data, AI can optimize traffic flow, control signals, schedule buses, predict congestion, and help different transportation systems work together more efficiently."
What surprises him most is how "invisible" technology has become in Guangzhou. "Digital payments, public services—everything is smooth and convenient."

Food has given him an even stronger sense of home. Peru has many Chinese restaurants called "chifa," derived from the Chinese word 吃饭 (chī fàn), which means "to have a meal."
From AI-powered transportation to food, Edwin has found both a career and a sense of belonging in Guangzhou.
