The first phase of the 140th Canton Fair concluded on October 19. The Guangzhou Trade Delegation delivered a steady and remarkable performance: its intended transaction volume hit a record US$1.37 billion from October 15 to 19.

Not only did the total intended transaction volume see steady growth during Phase 1, but the deal mix kept improving. The top five product categories by intended volume were consumer electronics and information products, home appliances, hardware and tools, machinery and equipment, and transport vehicles. Together, these top five categories accounted for over 80% of the total, underscoring Guangzhou's strengths in industrial clusters.

By region, the top five markets were the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. This balanced growth across traditional and emerging markets reflects the success of Guangzhou enterprises' diversified global strategies. Notably, their deep engagement in emerging markets such as Africa and Latin America is translating into tangible order gains.
