During the National Day holiday, Jiujiang, Nanhai, Foshan—China's famous dragon boat town, hosted a grand dragon boat carnival.
On the morning of October 1, both riverbanks were packed in Shangdong Community. The 48-year-old Jinlong Festival returned as scheduled. 40-person traditional dragon boats raced 400m out and back, testing each team's rhythm, stamina and teamwork.
In the afternoon, the Jiujiang Town Traditional Dragon Boat Open was held. 18 top teams battled it out. 55–75-person boats looked mighty. Splashes kept pushing the races to a climax.
Beyond the races, the "Dragon Boat People" International Dragon Boat Team teamed up with the Cambridge Alumni Society Guangdong to put on a great dragon boat parade.
