Spanish engineer David Torres moved from Germany to Guangzhou last year to join Xpeng. Within weeks, he found the city easy for foreigners—and its people warm and helpful. His kids love their international school; weekends are for exploring historic streets and parks.

He calls Guangzhou "where innovation happens". "It's like a little candy for people who want to innovate and explore new horizons." He said.
