This National Day holiday, Guangzhou is launching a new Pearl River night cruise light show, themed “One River, One Scroll of Guangzhou,” offering residents and visitors a dazzling visual feast and celebrating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The show will light up nine key sites from west to east, including the Greater Bay Area Art Center, Haizhu Square, Haiyin Bridge and Liede Bridge. Inspired by Lingnan masterpieces from the Guangzhou Museum of Art, it turns traditional ink landscapes, flowers and local scenes into a digital, three-dimensional scroll.

Its narrative unfolds through five city impressions — Listening to Water, Wandering Through Woods, Gazing at Mountains, Seeking Flowers and Seeing the City — bringing to life the Pearl River, southern greenery, cloud-wrapped mountains, the Flower City and its blend of old and new. Visitors can immerse themselves in the feeling of “traveling inside a painting, unfolding the Lingnan scroll.”
