Can you imagine? More than 1,000 meters below the sea surface, a team of researchers was actually “doing acupuncture.”

It happened beneath the waves of the vast South China Sea. Guangzhou Daily reporter Mai set out from Nansha, Guangzhou, and spent 30 days at sea aboard a research vessel, witnessing this astonishing, hardcore operation firsthand. Through repeated trials and explorations deep in the South China Sea, she also saw perseverance and struggle amid the wind and waves.
