Guangzhou-based autonomous driving company Pony.ai has teamed up with Qatar's national transport company Mowasalat to launch Doha's first fully driverless Robotaxi experience program.

“A truly driverless ride like this is a first for me in Doha. It's incredible — self‑driving cars are even safer than human drivers,” shared a young Qatari entrepreneur after taking a test ride.

The Gen‑7 Robotaxi deployed in the trial is Pony.ai's flagship model built for global markets. Optimized for lower costs and higher operational efficiency, it lays solid groundwork for large‑scale commercial roll‑outs worldwide.

So far, Pony.ai has expanded its global footprint across Asia and Europe. It has launched commercial passenger services in Croatia, Singapore, Qatar and more. Recent partnerships with leading global mobility platforms including Uber will see over 4,000 Robotaxis deployed overseas.
