The special exhibition "Guangzhou Through the Millennia: A Special Exhibition Marking 2,240 Years Since the City's Founding and 1,800 Years of Its Name" is now open to the public at Guangzhou Museum of Art. Running through August 2027, the exhibition brings together over 410 cultural relics from museums across the country—including 51 Grade-One and 90 Grade-Two national treasures—alongside rare ancient texts and immersive multimedia displays.
Organized into five thematic sections—A Blessed Land, A Millennium‑Old Commercial Hub, A Gathering of Cultural Luminaries, A Gateway of Progress, and Leading the Tide—the exhibition presents a panoramic view of Guangzhou's historical significance as a key starting point of the Maritime Silk Road, a cradle of democratic revolution, a pioneer of reform and opening-up, and a cultural heartland of Lingnan.
