In 226 AD, an imperial decree officially bestowed the name "Guangzhou" upon the city. For 1,800 years, the name has remained unchanged, and the city has never ceased to grow. 

The story engraved in that name tells of a city that has always opened its arms to the world — a spirit of connection and exchange that defines Guangzhou to this day.
