Pocket parks, which typically cover an area of 400 to 10,000 square meters, are mushrooming across China. Statistics show that China built more than 18,000 pocket parks across the country between 2021 and 2025.

In fast-paced metropolises like Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, the rollout of pocket parks not only provides local residents with easily accessible high-quality public leisure spaces, but also drives micro-renewal of old urban districts and unlocks the inherent vitality of underused existing built-up areas in these neighborhoods.
