Ahang, the beloved white lion known for his naturally straight "bangs" and expressive charm, passed away peacefully at Guangzhou Zoo on July 14 at the age of 17. After the zoo announced the news on July 15, visitors and animal lovers flooded social media with messages of remembrance, sharing virtual candles and heartfelt tributes to the lion who had been part of Guangzhou for more than a decade.
