Thirty years ago, the opening of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway laid down a steel spine running north to south—linking Hong Kong to the mainland. 

Thirty years on, from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, high-speed rail now reaches 113 destinations across the mainland. Hong Kong's connection to the motherland has never been closer.

Looking ahead, the Northern Link and the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Railway are taking shape on the drawing board—paving ever smoother roads for Hong Kong to integrate into the country's development.
