Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing will serve as godmother of the Adora Flora City, China's second domestically built large cruise ship, operator Adora Cruises announced on June 10.

The 341-meter, 141,900-ton vessel is scheduled for delivery on November 6, 2026, with its maiden voyage departing Guangzhou's Nansha International Cruise Homeport on November 22. Guo will officially name the ship at the ceremony, blessing its safe passage.

The Flora City — sister ship to the Adora Magic City, China's first homegrown large cruise ship — features 2,130 luxury cabins and suites accommodating up to 5,232 guests. It introduces upgrades in spatial design, smart technology, and onboard experience, promising guests a voyage that is "more elegant, more tech-savvy, more Chinese."

Launching from Guangzhou marks another milestone for China's cruise industry and a landmark in Greater Bay Area tourism integration. Adora Cruises plans to boost regional capacity, coordinating Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong ports to advance year-round cruise operations and bring high-quality vacations closer to home for more travelers.
