On May 13, 30+ students from 23 countries gathered at the Choy Li Fut Cultural Heritage Base in Huadu to explore Bak Sing Choy Li Fut — a national intangible cultural heritage now practiced in 40+ countries.
Student from the Republic of the Sudan: "I would like to show people in my country what kung fu is first. At the start it can be a little hard, but when people see it, they will see how interesting it is."
Student from the Republic of Botswana: "Eye‑dotting was very interesting for me — it was the first time I'm seeing it very close up. Kung fu has that thing of strength to it."
Fang Shengtang, National Intangible Cultural Heritage Master & Director of the Bak Sing Choy Li Fut Preservation Base, says: "Choy Li Fut belongs to us — and to the world. What is national is global, and I’m thrilled to pass on its heritage and spirit."
