On the afternoon of May 10, as part of the 2026 International Youth Poetry Festival (China-Arab States Session), the "Cantonese Opera Meets Poetry" event was held at the Cantonese Opera Art Museum in Guangzhou.
"This is my first time visiting a museum with such a classic and elegant atmosphere. I've never seen anything like this architecture or these performances in the Middle East—it really shows how distinct Chinese architectural culture is," said Kuwaiti poet Abdul.

Listening to the Cantonese opera melodies echoing from the stage, he remarked that although the language was unfamiliar, the rhythm and charm of the opera have sparked his interest in learning more about Chinese theater.
