On the evening of May 9, the opening ceremony of the 2026 International Youth Poetry Festival (China-Arab States Session) was held at the Guangzhou Cultural Center.

With the heartfelt theme "Poetry Speaks to Hearts Across the World" , the evening unfolded as a theatrical narrative, blending dramatic performances, vocal and dance numbers, and light and shadow presentations — creating an immersive poetic spectacle.

The festival is being held from May 8 to 17 across Guangdong and Beijing.  It brings together over 40 young poets and sinologists from 13 Arab countries including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Morocco, alongside more than 40 outstanding young Chinese poets and over 10 renowned specially invited poets from China and the Arab world.
