The 2026 Guangzhou Arts Season opened grandly today (May 8). The highlight of the opening was the world premiere of the centennial edition of the opera Turandot, marking Jackie Chan's debut as an opera director. The production runs through May 10 at the Guangzhou Opera House.

The arts season will close on July 31, featuring nearly 100 outstanding performances, ten high-quality exhibitions, and dozens of arts outreach activities — presenting a spectacular celebration of the arts.
