On March 31, the 10,800-car LNG dual-fuel car carrier built by CSSC Guangzhou Shipbuilding International for South Korea's HMM commenced sea trials. This is the world's first 10,000-car-class dual-fuel car carrier under construction. The vessel measures 230 meters in length and 40 meters in width, with 14 decks capable of loading 10,800 vehicles. It is designed to accommodate diverse vehicle types, including electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles. Equipped with a dual-fuel propulsion system that runs on both fuel oil and LNG, along with a shaft generator that generates electricity while sailing, the vessel meets Tier III emission standards and delivers outstanding energy savings and emission reduction performance.
