The First Senior Officials' Meeting of APEC China 2026 is underway in Guangzhou, bringing together the Asia-Pacific regionin a spirit of openness and cooperation. Coinciding with this, Guangzhou Daily's APEC Chill Chat series continues, sharing stories of international friends who call the city home.

In this episode, Bai Qianqian, an international student from Thailand and a beauty pageant champion, is exploring the dazzling world of cosmetics in Guangzhou. Here, she finds popular "Guangzhou-made" blushes that are hits in Thailand, alongside rose-scented aromatherapy products imported from her home country. 

A single lipstick, a palette of eyeshadow, and a bottle of perfume-all these items are weaving an increasingly tight economic bond between Guangzhou, Thailand, and the broader Southeast Asian region.

“I look forward to seeing more and more brands from my hometown in Guangzhou's shopping malls, and I also hope my Thai friends can buy more high-quality cosmetics from China,” said Bai Qianqian.
