The First Senior Officials' Meeting of APEC China 2026 is underway in Guangzhou, bringing together the Asia-Pacific regionin a spirit of openness and cooperation. Coinciding with this, Guangzhou Daily's APEC Chill Chat series continues, sharing stories of international friends who call the city home.

In this episode, We meet  CP Tan, the project design director for the Knowledge Tower in Guangzhou and a native of Malaysia. He shares his experiences navigating cultural exchanges while managing a multinational team of experts. Having lived and worked in China for 17 years, he leverages his bilingual skills in Chinese and English to act as a cultural bridge between local planners and foreign specialists.

While building the Knowledge City, CP Tan has also made it his home. He speaks highly of the area's beautiful environment, fresh air, and the convenience it offers for daily life.
