
On January 26, Guangzhou launched ten major intangible cultural heritage activities under the theme“Guangdong Goods, Global Reach; Lunar New Year, Best in Guangzhou,”offering a festive guide to cultural consumption. The initiative aims to showcase the city's heritage charm and New Year vitality as a millennium-old commercial hub, supporting its vision to become a globally influential and well-regarded international consumption center.
The ten heritage-rich activities include:
1. Flower Markets, a Citywide Fortune Parade
Following the tradition of“one district, one flower market,”all 11 districts of Guangzhou will host the festive“Flower Market Walk,”inviting everyone to“stroll through flowers, step into fortune.”

2. Fireworks Extravaganza, Lighting Up the Greater Bay Area Night
A grand Lunar New Year fireworks show will light up Bai'etan on the first day of the Year of the Horse, complemented by drone displays for a visual spectacle.

3. Lantern Festivals, Technology Meets Lingnan Tradition
Two lantern events will be held: the Guangzhou Spring Lantern Show from January 30 to March 8 at landmarks like Yuexiu Mountain, and the 2nd Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival from Feb 10 to May 10 in Nansha.

4. Food Map, Savoring Cantonese Culinary Heritage
A specially compiled“Guangzhou Intangible Cultural Heritage Food Atlas”gathers the city's culinary heritage items, making them easy to find, taste, and experience.
5. Inviting Global Guests, Blooming Flowers in Blooming City
Around the Lantern Festival, nearly 100 travel bloggers and influencers from 20 countries will be invited to“Celebrate New Year in Guangzhou, Admire Flowers in the Flower City,”sharing Guangzhou's warmth and charm with the world.

6. Cantonese Temple Fair, Immersed in Traditional Joy
The annual Guangfu (Cantonese) Temple Fair returns during the Lantern Festival along Beijing Road, offering a series of cultural activities that embody authentic Cantonese traditions.

7. Village Galas, Nostalgia in the New Era
Multiple districts will host“village gala”events featuring lion and dragon dances, heritage markets, and cultural performances, painting a vibrant picture of Guangzhou's beautiful countryside.

8. New Year Folk Customs, a Cultural Symphony
From Chinese New Year's Day to the Lantern Festival, traditional activities such as Qilin Dance will be staged, offering an immersive folk experience.
9. Heritage Cuisine and Wellness, Supporting Healthy Living
From Baijiang Yuan Heritage Workshops in Conghua district to the Guangzhou Cultural & Arts Centre, seasonal wellness feasts and health-themed heritage activities will be promoted throughout the spring.

10. Heritage Meets Modern Trends, Driving New Consumption
Over 100 new heritage-inspired products themed around the Year of the Horse will be launched, carrying auspicious meanings of success, leadership, and vitality.
