Recently, China Southern Airlines’ Guangzhou–Sydney route marked its 25th anniversary. Today, during peak travel seasons, the route operates up to four round-trip flights per day, making it one of the busiest and most stable air links connecting South China with Australia.

In 2024, the route carried nearly 412,000 passengers, ranking first among all China–Australia routes. This figure offers a clear indication of the increasingly close people-to-people exchanges and economic ties between China and Australia.
