"There are a lot of things that we can learn from China," said Alfredo Jalife-Rahme, Professor of Social and Political Sciences at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), on November 30 as the Understanding China Conference opened in Guangzhou.
Jalife-Rahme highlighted China's battle against poverty as a magnet for Global South nations. He also emphasized the growing importance of linguistic diversity, saying, "We must learn Mandarin," and noted that it provides another means of communication beyond English.
