The 3rd Guangzhou Cosmetics Week is set to open on December 3, city officials announced Thursday, with the metropolis's ¥100-billion cosmetics cluster issuing a global "beauty invitation."

Dubbed the "Canton Fair of the Beauty Industry," the five-day event will feature a debut Global Buyers Season, attracting hundreds of international purchasers, and four trend sessions focused on Latin America, the Middle East and Indonesia. 

Unilever will launch premium skincare, haircare and fragrance lines from Vaseline, NEXXUS and Lux, boosting Guangzhou's "first-release" economy. The 2025 Guangzhou Cosmetics Industry White Paper will also be released.

Home to 1,800 licensed manufacturers, accounting for 30 percent of China's total, Guangzhou leads the nation in cosmetic industrial output, surpassing 100 billion yuan.
