Two major sports venues in Guangzhou – Tianhe Sports Center and Guangzhou Sports Center for Persons with Disabilities – were granted the highest "Three-Star" accessibility certification on November 26, becoming the first sports facilities in China to receive this top rating.

The certification comes as Guangzhou prepares to host the National Games for Persons with Disabilities starting December 8. The city's "Zero-Barrier Competition Zone" initiative is transforming temporary accessibility measures for the Games into lasting improvements for the community.
