The 2025 Understanding China Conference (Guangzhou) will be held from November 30 to December 2 in Guangzhou, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Thursday.

Under the theme“New Plan, New Development, New Choices: Chinese Modernization and New Vision for Global Governance,” the conference will gather prominent global political figures, scholars, industry leaders, and representatives from international organizations.

The three-day event will feature an opening ceremony, leadership addresses, keynote speeches, dialogues, four parallel seminars, 19 thematic forums, three Bay Area dialogues, five closed-door workshops, and a series of supporting activities.
A distinctive feature of this year's conference is its broad international representation. Currently, approximately 200 international delegates from 72 countries and regions have confirmed attendance, with 70 percent representing Global South nations and 70 percent being first-time participants. The conference will welcome seven former heads of state or government, 11 ministerial-level officials, and five diplomatic envoys. Over 300 Chinese speakers will contribute to the discussions, with total attendance expected to reach around 800 participants.
