The Hong Kong men's foil team, led by Olympic fencing champion Cheung Ka Long, made history at the 15th National Games on November 19 by defeating Fujian to claim Hong Kong's first-ever fencing gold medal in National Games history.

"The atmosphere is fantastic," Cheung told Guangzhou Daily reporters after the victory. "Winning gold here in Hong Kong is absolutely amazing."
