Welcome to our special series on China's night economy, exploring how cities are lighting up after dark. In this episode, we're in Guangzhou, a city where vibrant nights are part of its cultural fabric, and where new trends are making the scene more dynamic than ever. In Guangzhou, nightlife is second nature. Known for their love of food, locals treat dinner as the most important meal and late-night snacks as a daily ritual. Today, there are even more reasons to stay out after dark. Beijing Road is one of Guangzhou's 15 metropolitan-level "Night Market Pilot Zones" launched last year. Together, the zones drew 3.67 billion visits between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025. The night economy, seen as a way to extend spending hours, has become a national strategy to boost consumption. Experts say it still has further potential. Source: CGTN Editor: Lyu Yun
