The selection process launched in April attracted overwhelming public engagement, with 13.79 million online votes cast during a five-day polling period in June. Participants selected their favorites from 71 candidate sites across the city, followed by evaluations from a 45-member expert panel assessing ecological value, cultural importance, and accessibility.
