On July 28, WeRide, the Guangzhou-based Chinese autonomous driving technology company, announced that its Robotaxi had obtained the first autonomous driving license in Saudi Arabia. With the license, WeRide is authorized to conduct autonomous driving operations in Saudi Arabia and deploy Robotaxi services nationwide.

According to reports, WeRide is the first autonomous driving technology company whose Robotaxi has passed Saudi Arabia's Transport General Authority (TGA) pilot program for self-driving vehicles.

Last Wednesday, the company had launched its first autonomous taxi trial operation services in Riyadh.
