A virtual reality experience transporting users to 12th-century China has opened at the Guangzhou Cultural Center. The 300-square-meter free-roam space utilizes motion tracking and haptic technology to create China’s first officially certified Song Dynasty-themed immersive environment.
The 30-minute journey takes users to Lin'an (modern Hangzhou)—the Southern Song Dynasty capital. Participants navigate canal networks by virtual boat, explore night markets illuminated by floating oil lamps, and witness celebratory processions following General Yue Fei's military victories. The experience concludes with a seamless transition back to modern Guangzhou.
