China has ushered in a new era of deep-sea salmon aquaculture with the delivery of "Su Hai 1" in Nansha, Guangzhou, the world's first self-propelled, enclosed salmon farming vessel.

This cutting-edge facility combines breeding, harvesting, and processing capabilities for premium fish species. Deploying to the Yellow Sea's cold-water mass, it's projected to yield 8,000 tons of salmon annually – significantly reducing China's reliance on imported chilled salmon. The inaugural harvest is scheduled for market debut during next year's Dragon Boat Festival.
