On November 17, the opening ceremony as well as the main forum of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum 2024 was held in Guangzhou's Nansha district, with over 100 scientists participating. Nobel laureate Barry J. Marshall and Fields Medal winner Efim Zelmanov made keynote speeches.

During the three-day event, cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, brain science and brain-like intelligence technology, future materials, future energy and low-carbon initiatives were discussed at 14 sub-forums.
