Self-awakening film makes box-office success

On September 15, Like a Rolling Stone, a film based on the real-life self-awakening journey of Chinese woman Su Min hit China’s cinemas. As of Sept 17, it had amassed over 42 million yuan in box-office earnings, with a total number of moviegoers exceeding 1.06 million.

Starring Yong Mei, best actress at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival, the film tells the story of Su Min who felt depressed after dedicating her life to her family for dozens of years and decided to take control of her own life by becoming a nomad at 50. She has become an internet celebrity now.
