The World Children Development Forum opened on Sunday night in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. It is expected to promote communication and cooperation among worldwide children's organizations and institutions while connecting Chinese children to their global peers.

To this end, A Dong, Chairman of the Inter-Ministries Meeting for the Implementation of the Medium and Long-Term Youth Development Plan, called on relevant international organizations to prioritize childhood development, share successful experiences, and expand cooperation space.

A Dong is also the First Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.

In his opening remarks, A Dong urged global scientists to help with scientific education, disseminate scientific knowledge, and promote the spirit of science. "I hope that Chinese and foreign children can enhance understanding, gain friendship, and grow together through mutual learning, laying a solid foundation for creating a better future for humanity," A Dong said.

Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, advocated for improving the scientific curiosity and skills of the younger generation, promoting practical teaching methods, and calling on relevant parties to help inspire young scientists.

Sylvia Vardell, President of the International Board on Books for Young People, said that the board's mission is to connect children with books and establish a communication bridge, promote reading through various initiatives and activities, strive to publish the best reading materials for young people, and benefit children in areas of war, disease and natural disasters.

The forum has brought together representatives from 40 countries. It is hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and supported by UNESCO and UNICEF. It was organized by the China Children's Press and Publication Group, Guangdong Youth Federation, Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhuhai Municipal People's Government, Guangzhou Youth Federation, and Zhuhai Youth Federation.
