The first banyan tree park in Guangzhou was unveiled at the Dafushan Forest Park (大夫山森林公园) in Panyu district on April 13.
 
The park has more than 9,000 banyan trees in 15 varieties, topping other parks in the city in terms of both number and species. It also boasts over 350 kinds of other plants.
 
Next, local authorities will focus on introducing and cultivating more varieties of banyan trees and develop the park into one with the most banyan species in South China.
