Taking a relaxing kayak ride along the Jiaomen River has become a must-do activity for a growing number of tourists to Guangzhou's Nansha district.

The Nansha Kayaking Base, the first water leisure sports base opened to the public in Guangdong province, has attracted over 1.5 million people to try kayaking and offered special training courses to students of local schools since its operation in 2011.

The abundant water resources and beautiful natural scenery contribute to the rise of water sports in Nansha.
