Chicken is a common meal on the family table of Cantonese people. Besides White Cut Chicken, hand-shredded chicken (手撕鸡shou si ji) is another favored method of cooking chickens. By shredding into pieces and mixed with various seasoning ingredients, the chicken can be more flavorful and tasty.

The video (taken in 2021) features Cantonese hand-shredded chicken produced by Zuixianju (醉贤居), a restaurant specializing in Cantonese cuisine for nearly 30 years . Their chickens are not only good in quality, but also lower in price.

With a glance at our menu one would find that the price of our hand-shredded chicken is probably the lowest in Guangzhou. Only 25RMB for half one of this super delicious chicken, with the best quality.

Why our chickens are sold at a lower price? Because the store is our own estate and the cost of the rent can be saved. Then our customers can save a few yuanfor one chicken. Iftwo people come to dine here, 50 yuan is enough.

We don't expect to earn a great sum from this business. And since we grow up in a poor family, we'd like to benefit our customers at a lower budget. It's so hard to make money. If we price the chicken higher, many people might not come to dine.

Given that the chicken is fresh and of good quality, any chefs can cook it well. If the chicken is inferior and not fresh, no chef can cook it well. So, the freshness must be guaranteed.

Our eatery has lasted for 30 years. Both our chefs have cooked for decades. We're all about family cooking.

Many customers would comment, “ Wow! This eatery is good in taste, but relatively short in decoration.” Yet you're not paying for decoration here, but for the traditional taste.
