1. Cold weather will continue in Guangzhou these two days with scattered showers. The temperature in the city is expected to climb up on February 11 and 12 but will drop between February 13 and 14. More rainy and foggy days are anticipated.

2. A total of 816 temporary collecting spots for disposed kumquat trees and potted flowers were set up by the Guangzhou Urban Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau. Citizens are encouraged to sort out pots, soil and plants to facilitate garbage recycling.

3. Guangzhou South Railway Station has launched about 30 intercity bus routes which provide 24-hour transportation services from Guangzhou to Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Dongguan, and Huizhou.

4. Some universities in Guangdong province are asking students in medium- and high-risk areas of COVID-19 not to return to campus until the areas become low risk. Also, negative nucleic acid test results taken within 48 hours are required for people entering school areas. 


These universities include Guangdong University of Technology, South China Normal University, Sun Yat-sen University, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University, Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, and Guangzhou University.

5. Guangzhou Metro handled about 18.7 million passenger trips during the Spring Festival holiday from January 31 to February 6, according to the latest data from the metro operator. Metro Line 3 carried the most passengers over the 7-day holiday with 3.54 million trips. Tiyuxilu(体育西路), Gongyuanqian(公园前) and Jiahewanggang (嘉禾望岗)were the top three metro stations in terms of passenger traffic during the period.
