Global postal services issue stamps to celebrate Chinese Year of the Tiger

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, a number of countries have issued limited-edition stamps with intricately detailed designs and meaningful elements rooted in their respective cultures and traditions.

为了庆祝中国虎年,很多国家发行了限量版生肖邮票。邮票设计精巧,有着植根于不同文化和传统的元素。

The United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) issued a special-event stamp sheet to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year on Jan. 21, 2022.


1月21日,联合国邮政管理局在纽约发行中国农历壬寅虎年特别版邮票版张,庆祝中国农历新年的到来。

The stamp sheet consists of 10 stamps of a denomination of 1.30 US dollars each, with the UN logo on the left and a gongbi-style (meticulous painting) tiger among roses on the right, as the Chinese lunar year for 2022 is the Year of the Tiger.


虎年邮票版张由每枚面值1.30美元(1美元约合6.34元人民币)的10枚邮票组成,整个版张定价15.95美元。邮票左半部分为联合国会徽图案,右半部分为中国设计师潘虎创作的“虎嗅蔷薇”图,描绘了一只猛虎徜徉在蔷薇丛中的情景。


The UNPA completed the entire Chinese zodiac cycle of 12 animals in 2021. The new tiger stamp is the start of a new zodiac cycle issued for UNPA's Lunar New Year stamp series.


联合国邮政管理局2010年5月首次发行以中国生肖为内容的邮票,到2021年已发行了首轮12张生肖邮票,今年的虎年邮票开启了第二轮生肖邮票的发行。


France 法国


French postal service company La Poste  issued two stamps to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Lunar New Year of Tiger on Jan 22, 2022.


2022年1月22日,法国邮政发行了一套2枚农历生肖虎年邮票。

Featuring a crouching tiger on a red background, one stamp applies to the domestic mail service in France for a face value of 1.16 euros. The other, with a standing tiger looking to the distance on a blue background, has a denomination of 1.65 euros for international mail service.


此次发行的中国农历虎年生肖纪念邮票共两款:其中一款面值1.16欧元,票面是红色背景下威严静坐的老虎,象征力量;另一款面值1.65欧元,票面是蓝色背景下伫立远眺的老虎,象征希望。

Pictures above show the 2022 Year of the Tiger stamps published by New Zealand Post. New Zealand Post has published the 2022 Year of the Tiger stamps to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. It is the 26th consecutive year that New Zealand has published Chinese zodiac stamps.


Hungary 匈牙利


A special zodiac stamp issued by the Hungarian Post to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Tiger was presented at an online ceremony here on Jan 25.


Hungary has issued stamps commemorating the Chinese New Year for nine consecutive years.




The sheetlet for the Year of the Tiger was designed by graphic artist Agnes Szajko-Berta, with a total volume of 20,000. Each sheetlet consists of two stamps, with two tigers connected end to end.


The stamp features the colors red and yellow, with red symbolizing happiness and contentment and yellow representing prosperity and abundance.
