1. Guangzhou reported one local asymptomatic COVID-19 carrier on January 18, according to the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission. The patient, a 36-year-old woman, is a coworker of the previous case identified on January 14 who engaged in cleaning work for international flights in Huadu district.


2. To improve passenger services during the Spring Festival travel rush, nine metro stations in Guangzhou are offering free luggage carts, face masks, and medical kits to people in need. The stations include the Guangzhou South Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Jiaokou, Guangzhou East Railway Station, Airport South, Airport North, Tianhe Coach Station, Guangzhou North Railway Station, and Conghua Coach Terminal.


Besides, decorations of Chinese paintings and calligraphy are put up at the metro station of Guangzhou Railway Station to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival.

3. Eleven bus lines in Guangzhou’s Nansha district have adjusted their route maps to connect Hengli(横沥)and Wanqingsha(万顷沙)metro stations of line 18. Bus lines connecting the Hengli Metro Station are G1-G5, Nansha 23, Nansha 24, Nansha 17, and Nansha 69/Zhongshan 980.  Bus lines connecting the Wanqingsha Metro Station are Nansha 2, Nansha 21 and Nansha 25. Besides, temporary parking lots for public vehicles are available at the two metro stations.

4. Linking Panyu and Nansha districts, the Beidou Bridge(北斗大桥) reopened at 11 a.m. on January 19 after six months of emergency repair.

5. Small-size vehicles with no more than seven seats will not be charged for highway toll fees nationwide from January 31 to February 6, the Spring Festival holiday, according to the Ministry of Transport.
