1. All metro lines in Guangzhou will extend services for one and a half hour on December 31 and one hour on January 1 to facilitate passenger travel during the New Year holiday, Guangzhou Metro announced on December 28.
Metro Lines 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 will also run an extra hour on January 3 and passenger flow control will be conducted at some metro stations according to real-time traffic during the three-day holiday.

2. The first section of Foshan Metro Line 2 was put into operation on December 28, which enables travelers from downtown Foshan to reach Guangzhou South Railway Station in 30 minutes. The section has set up 17 stations, starting from Nanzhuang(南庄)in Chancheng district of Foshan and ending at Guangzhou South Railway Station.

3. A temporary inoculation site for COVID-19 vaccine was set up at Guangzhou South Railway Station on December 27 and will provide vaccination service from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. till January 22. The site is located at the square outside the west entrance (广州南站一楼西出口广场) on the ground floor of the station.

4. A total of 870 temporary parking spots in 26 streets across Guangzhou will start charging fees from January 1. Drivers can scan a QR code at the spots to pay fees, or follow the official WeChat and Alipay accounts of “Guangzhou Parking (广州泊车)” to get payment instructions.

5. With a 30-meter-high book tower and a pyramidal glass roof, a new bookshop in Panyu district of Guangzhou is attracting a large number of visitors. Named Migu Bookstore, it sells over 100,000 books and provides coffee, food, and art spaces for readers.
