The first doses of COVID-19 vaccines would not be administered in Guangzhou before June 30, the city's center for disease control and prevention said on Tuesday (June 15).

However, Guangzhou has resumed giving the second doses of vaccines, and is making efforts to optimize the reservation process for vaccinations and make vaccines available to more people.

For now, personal reservations for the second dose are required to be made online, mainly through WeChat mini-programs. The city plans to offer more channels for citizens to make reservations by phone or as a group at local committees.

One of the online reservation systems "广州健康通" has upgraded its services to enable cross-district reservations. People can choose to receive the second dose either in the district where they got the first jab or where they live. Given the rising demand for vaccinations, the system will open reservations at fixed time slots a day for different districts.

Tianhe district recently launched an online reservation system exclusively for residents who have received the first dose over 49 days ago. Please scan the QR code below.

Zengcheng district rolled out a vaccination map through the official WeChat account "增城区融媒体中心"(ID: zc-news), allowing people to get details of the vaccination sites across the district and make reservations.
