China

 

1. China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced today that it will indefinitely suspend all activities under the framework of the China-Australia Strategic Economic Dialogue.

 

2. The T3 terminal (under construction) of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will be connected with Guangzhou-Heyuan High-speed Railway and Guangzhou-Zhuhai(Macao) High-speed Railway in the future, according to a notice on the website of Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

 

3. The latest figures by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Wednesday showed that about 230 million domestic trips were made over the five-day holiday — from May 1 to 5, marking a year-on-year rise of 119.7 percent. The domestic tourism market has so far recovered 103.2 percent compared to pre-pandemic levels.

5. Italy might allow tourists who have received a vaccine, recovered from the virus or can show a negative test to enter the country without mandatory quarantine as soon as this month, said Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

 

6. U.S. President Joe Biden is setting a new vaccination goal to deliver at least one dose to 70 percent of adult Americans by July 4, the White House said Tuesday.

 

7. After three days of talks in London, G7 foreign ministers agreed to export surplus doses of COVID-19 vaccines to countries in need and speed up production of jabs. Two positive COVID-19 cases were reported among the Indian delegation attending the G7 meeting in London, Sky News reported on Wednesday.
