Guangzhou is planning to build a 33.km sightseeing trail that connects the city's new central axis, the riverside greenway, the old central axis and "Yundao", the eight-kilometer elevated trail between Baiyun Mountain and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The planning of the trail is posted on the website of Guangzhou Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau soliciting public opinions.

The trail, named "Yuehuan" (literally ring of Guangdong, "粤环"in Chinese), is designed to bridge green spaces of 17 parks, six business districts and 21 national protected sites, expected to become the top option of one-day hiking for residents and visitors in the city.
To connect all the scenic spots, elevated footpaths and underpasses will be built in some sections, and certain spots along the trail will be upgraded and renovated, according to the plan.

Part 1: sightseeing trail along the new central axis
新中轴观光漫道

Certain cultural and sports venues along the sightseeing path will be upgraded to fit in with the trail. More facilities will be put in place in the Tianhe Sports Center to facilitate night running, and the entry and exit of Liuyun pedestrian street will be remoulded to better connect the street with Huacheng Square via underpasses.

Part 2:Riverside greenway 珠水丝路漫道

The current green spaces and vegetation zones embellishing the Yanjiang Donglu will be upgraded to form a comprehensive riverfront park, allowing visitors to take in the view of Pearl River and riverside skyscrapers.

The facades of Qilou buildings, or arcade-houses, a distinctive building structure in Guangzhou, at Qiyi Lu are expected to be restored for visitors to explore the traditional buildings with both Chinese and western architectural characteristics.

The Renmin Park also will have its spaces repurposed to serve displays and exhibitions.

Part 4: Baiyun Mountain recreational walkway
云山游憩漫道

The part mainly involved the construction of Guangzhou Garden and a supporting Flower Bridge, which is expected to connect with Yundao to form a closed loop with other parts.
