Two new rushes of cold air are forecast to hit Guangdong province starting tonight, according to the provincial meteorological authorities.

Arriving tonight and lingering through March 2, the first cold wave is expected to bring with it light rain and a temperature drop of around 2-4℃, especially in northern regions of the province.

Influenced by the southerly wind and cold air, Guangzhou will get wetter these days with possible foggy weather, leading to low visibility on roads. People are advised to pay attention to driving safety on rainy days.

Another wave of cold snap is to arrive between March 6 and 8, accompanied with light rain and a slight temperature drop.

The expected cold waves also raise the public's concern over the possible arrival of Hui Nan Tian (回南天 in Chinese), the annual annoyingly wet and warm weather in Guangzhou around this season. The typical meteorological phenomenon always arrives in Guangdong province every March and April, with windows, furniture and floor "sweating" and rain and fog dominating the province.

Hui Nan Tian, however, is yet to consume Guangzhou these days between the two cold snaps, according to Guangzhou's meteorological department.
