1. The old Guangzhou Service Center of Foreigners' Work Permit (广州市外国人工作服务窗口) in Yuexiu district will be closed to the public from today (Mar. 1). Foreigners can go to the Guangzhou Government Affairs Center (广州市政务服务大厅) in Zhujiang New Town to handle their work permits, talent recognition and other issues, according to the city's Science and Technology Bureau. 

 

2. Fishing moratorium starts today in multiple cities in Guangdong, including Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhaoqing, Meizhou, Maoming and Jieyang, and will last till June 30.

 

3. A new ferry link between Zhuhai's  Jiuzhou Port and Macao's Taipa Ferry Terminal in Pac On will start service from today (Mar. 1), with 10 round-trips a day and a ticket price of 38 yuan. The trip takes 25 minutes. But passengers need a nucleic acid test report within 7 days to pass the checkpoint.

 

4. China's economy grew by 2.3 percent year-on-year in 2020, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Sunday, making it the only major economy in the world that pocketed positive economic growth

 

5. China will continue to exempt certain U.S. goods from additional tariffs until September this year, according to the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council.

 

6. China's 2021 box office revenue has exceeded 15 billion yuan ($2.32 billion) as of Saturday. The figure surpassed 14.5 billion yuan that was generated at China's box office during the same period in 2019, according to data compiled by box office tracker Maoyan.
