To greet the upcoming holiday season and offer more options of entertainment for residents, seven movies will be released on the first day of the Chinese New Year on February 12. Early sales began on January 29 and tickets of over 300 million yuan had been sold as of 7:15 p.m., February 4, according to the latest online ticket sales figure disclosed by the film data platform, Maoyan.

1.Detective Chinatown 3《唐人街探案3》

Detective Chinatown 3 is a 2021 Chinese comedy-mystery film directed by Chen Sicheng, starring Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Tsumabuki Satoshi, and Tadanobu Asano. The film, which is the third entry in the "Detective Chinatown" series, finds Tang Ren and Qin Feng heading to Tokyo to investigate a mysterious murder.

2. Hi, Mom《你好，李焕英》

Comedy is traditionally an indispensable part of the Spring Festival. Directed by famous comedian Jia Ling, Hi, Mom is adapted from a sketch comedy with the same name aired in 2016. In this film, Jia Xiaoling, played by Jia Ling, experiences the sorrow of her mom's death, but then unexpectedly returns to the year 1981 and meets with her mom in her mom's youth.

3.Ren Chao Xiong Yong《人潮汹涌》

Adapted from the Japanese movie, Key of Life, and starring Andy Lau and Xiao Yang, Ren Chao Xiong Yong tells a humorous story of a coldblooded killer and a failed walk-on who exchanged lives and identities. It is important to note that the director, Rao Xiaozhi, has created a box office miracle on A Cool Fish, for which moviegoers have high expectations for Ren Chao Xiong Yong. 

4.Assassin in Red《刺杀小说家》

Assassin in Red, also known as A Writer's Odyssey, director Lu Yang's new movie, is a Chinese fantasy thriller adapted from a novel of the same name. The cast includes Lei Jiayin, Yang Mi, Dong Zijian, and Yu Hewei. The film follows a father trying hard to find his missing daughter. It narrates how he carries out the task of assassinating a novelist under a mysterious woman's order. Unexpectedly, the characters' actions in the alternate world of the novelist's book begin to affect the real world.

5.The Yin Yang Master《侍神令》

The Yin Yang Master is a 2021 Chinese fantasy epic based on the video game "Onmyoji" by NetEase Games. The storyline revolves around a Yin Yang Master Qing Ming (magic specialist), who can traverse between the demon world and human world, uniting with a bunch of demons and fighting shoulder-to-shoulder against the demon king. The film has a cast led by famed actress Zhou Xun and popular actor Chen Kun.  

6.Boonie Bears: The Wild Life《熊出没·狂野大陆》
